All you need is a valid Japanese driver's license, a residence card/passport (if you are a foreign national), and a credit card to rent a car.

What documents do I need to have for a Lease?

Personal seal, seal registration certificate, garage certificate, driver's license valid in Japan, residence card/passport (for foreign nationals) A Japanese bank account and many documents are required, most of which must be submitted in Japanese. The leasing company may call you directly and you may have to respond in Japanese.

I only have an international driver's license/Foreign driver's license valid in Japan. Can I rent a car?

Yes, you can rent cars, but in principle, you cannot lease them. For those who find switching licenses a hassle, we recommend renting a car.

Is it hard to switch to a Japanese license?

The test center is very busy with reservations, so you may have to wait several months. Also, the Japanese driving test is not easy, and many people try to retake it three or four times.

How many months maximum can I rent a car? What about maintenance?

We can rent you a car from one month up to two years. For safety reasons, maintenance will be performed every 6 months.

Can you deliver the car to my home or hotel?
